Musculoskeletal Tumors Cases

Case 1: Metastatic Osteosarcoma of Mandible

Case History:

33 year old female with osteosarcoma of the mandible.

Findings:

Axial STIR(A), Coronal STIR(B), Axial PET MR fused ( C) and post-contrast VIBE axial (D) at the level of mandible showing an FDG avid enhancing necrotic soft tissue lesion (arrow) involving the central arch of the mandible with exquisite anatomical details about the extent of involvement.

Besides, Whole body Imaging with Simultaneous PET/MRI reveals multiple brain, hepatic, osseous and choroidal metastasis thus enabling single shot imaging in one sitting.(PET MIP, E) Sagittal PET MR fused image (F) of the spine shows FDG avid vertebral metastasis.
Axial sections of the brain FLAIR (A) SWI (Susceptibility weighted image) (B) and Post-contrast axial (C) showing multiple hemorrhagic enhancing parenchymal lesions in bilateral cerebral & cerebellar hemispheres: metastasis.

Axial T2 (D) and PET MR fused(G) images reveal FDG avid right orbital metastasis MR and fused PET/MRI images reveal multiple FDG avid and non avid lesions are seen in the lung (blue arrow in H), liver (green arrow in F), left adrenal (red arrow in I), choroid of right eye (white arrow in G), & right ilium (yellow arrow in J): meta-static.

Case 2: Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor of Lower Limbs & Spine

Case History:

59 year old male with recurrent Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath tumor of right leg.

Findings:

Sagittal post-contrast VIBE (A) shows multiple heterogeneously enhancing mass with vascular relations. Axial T2(B, C) shows mass lying in the posterior compartment with vascular and muscular relations and increased FDG uptake in coronal PET/MRI fused image(D). Avid marrow lesion is seen in the L3 vertebral body in Sagittal PET/MR fused (E) and Sagittal STIR image of the spine (F): Metastatic deposit.
