Monitoring Treatment Response for Autism

 

Case History:

22 year old male with autism. Underwent stem cell therapy. Pre and post-treatment PET/MRI compared.

Findings:

 

Qualitative and quantitative comparative analysis to a standard age-matched database using the SCENIUM software shows moderate FDG qualitative and quantitative hypometabolism in bilateral medial temporal lobes (blue color, arrow). Post Stem Cell Therapy follows up examination shows an overall improvement in the FDG metabolism as depicted by the decrease in the standard deviation of mean and maximum SUV values.
