Axial FLAIR (A) and Coronal T2W (D) images showing generalized cerebral atrophy with a prominence of sulcal spaces and ventricles. Corresponding PET/MRI fused (B, E) and PET (C, F) images show marked symmetrical hypometabolism in bilateral frontal-temporoparietal lobes with relative sparing of the sensory-motor cortex (arrows).
Qualitative and quantitative comparative analysis to a standard age-matched database using the SCENIUM software shows symmetrical moderate to marked qualitative and quantitative FDG hypometabolism (blue color, arrowheads) involving bilateral frontotemporal regions, bilateral hippocampi and the cingulate gyrus with relative sparing of the sensory-motor cortex and the occipital lobes (arrowhead).
