Tumor Recurrence on FET-PET/MRI

Case History:

38 year old male, operated anaplastic oligodendroglioma (2009), Post RT with recurrence on MR in April 2014 for which patient was reoperated.

Findings:

Non enhancing bulkiness along the margins of the post-op cavity (arrows) involving the left thalamopeduncular and hippocampal regions on axial FLAIR image (A) and post-contrast T1W image (B) with increased FET uptake in PET / MR fused image (C) and axial PET image (D). It showed increased MR perfusion on rCBV maps( E), reduced ADC (F) suggesting tumor recurrence.

Case Study Prepared by:

This short PET-MRI Scan case was compiled by Dr. Sangeeta Taneja and Dr. Amarnath Jena (Nuclear Medicine Physician at PET-Suite @ Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar).
