33 year old male, operated Right parietal Grade II astrocytoma( 2007). Post-op/RT. MRI 31/7/14 revealed the recurrent disease.
Contrast MRI done in July 2014 revealed a complex cystic lesion with small enhancing nodular component Arrows in Axial FLAIR (A) Axial T2W (B) Post-contrast MPRAGE sagittal image (C) and axial PC T1(D). The patient underwent surgery in August 2014. HPE was grade II oligoastrocytoma.
Prior to re- radiation planning an 18-F FET PET/MRI was done prior to radiation therapy, which revealed post-op changes and residual non enhancing bulkiness along the posterior margins. Arrows in FLAIR axial ( A) and post-contrast MPRAGE (B) a discrete area of increased FET uptake on PET axial (D)and PET/MR fused (C) suggesting residual disease.
This short PET-MRI Scan case was compiled by Dr. Sangeeta Taneja and Dr. Amarnath Jena (Nuclear Medicine Physician at PET-Suite @ Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar).
